Slack Integration Guide
This integration guide explains how to configure Slack to receive messages from AlertAgility. Slack is a powerful chat tool used by many organizations for communication. Slack to AlertAgility allows your team to receive notifications on your Slack channel every time an incident occurs, making it easier to stay on top of issues.
In your Slack app or Slack website, click on your org and find the ‘Apps & Integration’ link.
Once you click on ‘Apps & Integration’ you will see a webpage where you can search for Slack integrations. Search for the word ‘Webhooks’.
You will be presented with a few options. Since we want to get alert messages into Slack, select ‘Incoming Webhooks’.
In the screen that follows, click on ‘Add Configuration’. You can choose the channel to which to send the notifications.
Once you choose the channel you will get the webhook URI. This URI is used by AlertAgility to send notifications. Copy this webhook URI.
In your AlertAgility page, click on ‘Services’ and choose the service you want to configure to send notifications to Slack. On the Services page, click edit on the service you wish to configure.
In the services edit page, click on ‘Configure a new webhook’.
Give this webhook a name, and paste the URI from step 5 in the ‘Webhook URL’ field. Now, add the webhook and make sure to click ‘Save Settings’.
The Slack room for which the incoming webhook was configured will now receive notifications every time a new alert occurs or a new action on an existing alert occurs.
